Alison Cole has over 20 years’ experience in representing clients in all aspects of trade mark law and practice, as well as design and copyright matters. Cole's particular areas of expertise include obtaining protection for unusual and/or unconventional trade marks. Cole acts for clients across a range of sectors including sustainable and digital fashion, wearable technology, children’s products, insurance, perfumery and online platforms.
Cole was an Examiner for IPREG for over ten years in respect of EUTM and International law, and has consequently been awarded the prestigious title of Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys.
Cole entered the profession in 1996. She re-joined the UDL team in 2017 following 12 years as Partner at Graham Watt & Co. Prior to this, she was a member of our trade marks team for eight years. Cole is fluent in French and also speaks Spanish and German. She is a mentor for the Fashion for Good platform.
