Ali F. Mostafa

Filmmaker

Ali F. Mostafa is an Emirati film-maker. After receiving his MA from London Film School in 2005, Mostafa started a production company, AFM Films, and has since produced films, documentaries and commercials. Mostafa's graduation short film Under the Sun earned several nominations for Best Foreign Film in international festivals and won Best Emirates Film at the 2006 Emirates Film Competition. In addition, he was named Best Emirati Filmmaker by the Dubai International Film Festival in 2007 for his work on Under the Sun and 2010 Young Filmmaker of the Year by Digital Studio magazine for his debut feature City of Life.  In 2014, Mostafa was awarded Man of The Year by Esquire magazine for his achievements in building a United Arab Emirates film industry.
