British artist Phoebe Collings-James earned a BA in fine art from Goldsmiths University in London. The artist creates multidisciplinary works in sculpture, painting and video. She has a distinctly corporeal approach whether she is crushing eggs with her feet or dragging oil paint around a canvas, all in order to explore major universal themes: violence, sexuality, desire, and beauty. She established the blog Cunt Today as an online platform to explore contemporary art and feminism. Her solo exhibitions include Choke On Your Tongue at the Italian Cultural Institute, London in 2015, Ivory Black at Cookie Butcher, Antwerp in 2014, The Flesh Is All You Have If You Mortify That There Is No Hope For You at Ritter Zamet Gallery, London in 2013, Blood On The Leaves Blood On The Roots at Preteen Gallery, Mexico City in 2013 and Pleasure Pieces at Still House, New York in 2012. Group shows Collings-James has shown in include Too Much, Two Queens in 2014, All That Matter’s is Whats Left Behind at Ronchini Gallery, London in 2014 and It’s Been Four Years Since 2010 at Arcadia Missa, London in 2014 among many others.

Phoebe has collaborated on art direction and set design for fashion brands including; Dior, Twin Magazine and Visionaire Magazine. She is regularly called upon to speak on panels for the likes of The Tate Britain, The Cass School, WOW Festival and Shoreditch House Talks, usually on women in the arts and feminism.

Phoebe has quickly established herself as not only a hugely credible force within the art world but has been taken under the wing of the fashion industry. Having been featured in British and US Vogue, LOVE, Tatler, i-D, Dazed & Confused, GQ Style, L'Officiel, Twin Magazine, Hero and Wonderland, she also walked for the SS14 Sister by Sibling show at London Fashion Week. She has been asked to write and contribute to magazines including LOVE and is the Contributing Style & Arts editor to Near East Magazine.
