Greta Bellamacina

Poet

Greta Bellamacina is a poet, actor and filmmaker from Camden, London. She trained at RADA before going on to do a BA in English at King's College London. In 2014 she was shortlisted as the Young Poet Laureate of London. In 2015 she edited On Love, a collection of contemporary British love poetry and in 2016 she published her debut poetry collection Perishing Tame exploring motherhood and female identity, as well as Points for Time in the Sky, a collaborative collection with her husband Robert Montgomery. In 2017 she published Smear, an anthology of contemporary feminist poetry. 

She has written and starred in a number of documentaries and short films including The Last Cantos on Ezra Pound's 90-year-old daughter Mary de Rachewiltz, The Safe House: A Decline of Ideas on the disappearance of public libraries and Myths not for Sale, a short film centering a single mother and a middle-aged aspiring actress. 

She co-founded New River Press, an independent poetry press with her husband Robert Montgomery.
