Panel Discussion: Bianca Saunders June 2020

Menswear designer Bianca Saunders discusses a collaboration worldview with model and writer Jess Cole and photographer Joshua Woods, in a discussion chaired by Bella Gladman for SHOWstudio.

Saunders worked with Cole and Woods on her zine called We Are One Of The Same, which is based around similarities within gender - also the vision of the Bianca Saunders brand. They shot the zine with two twins; male and female, conveying the idea of mutuality. The zine features a selection of Bianca Saunders collections, styled in an androgynous and expressive way.

The panel talk about bringing their different perspectives together for the first time and how to create an authentic collaborative environment. Speaking about blackness in their work and the expectations society has of Black creatives, the panel also discuss finding liberation via collaboration.
