When Naomi Campbell opens a show with Etta James playing in the background you know something special is on the way. Zac Posen delivered just that, and perhaps even a little more, with a collection full of the sort of dreamy dresses he's known for - and a little extra in the way of girls. After Campbell came out in a hibiscus print day dress, there was Isabeli Fontana in rose chiffon and Lindsey Wixson in a patchwork of the same pink pattern and a soft multicolored floral (Harlem Roses per show notes).

A few looks in and already Posen had provided what New York often misses, that transportive old world elegance. The dusty palette and expert pin tucks and ruffles were ladylike yet super sexy, especially the rose blouse paired with a slim satin skirt and cream tulle bustier with black crepe pant. The girls kept coming too: Angela Lindvall, Erin O'Connor and Coco Rocha to close the show. Ever the romantic, Posen's girls could have walked off the Avery Fisher Hall runway and into the opera or ballet. If only people still dressed like this. Something special happened here, to borrow from James, 'A Sunday Kind Of Love'.
