There aren't many women who don't somehow, somewhere in the subconscious, love a marabou tutu top like the one shown in Oscar de la Renta's spring collection, and the same goes for the charming New York designer. Even if she fancies herself subversive and edgy, there's nary a girl who can argue the appeal of these clothes.

The pencil cut slim skirts with fitted blouses, cream or striped leisure suiting and sculpted shifts and evening dresses were all signature Oscar and as good as ever. Same goes for the palette: black, cream, icy blue, coral and hot pink and yellow with a pop of red. Surprise! there were some amazing slim, almost minimal dresses for those who avoid pouf and a playful riff on all over embroidered shapes as seen on the shores of Nantucket and tree lined streets of Connecticut.

Showing society elegance what's happening, there were also super evening short sets with hot and pale pink embellished peplum bustiers and one cropped top in coral with 3D coral roses. Even the graffiti embroidery worked well on the skirt of a sheer short sleeve dress, as did more classic black designs stitched on turquoise and coral.

Only one complaint, well two in a similar direction: the punk color streaked beehives and the appearance of latex. As stated, everyone loves Oscar and there was already enough that was real, cool and new.
