Richard Quinn’s commitment to old-world glamour is striking in a city defined by its scrappy, unbridled creativity. Once a provocateur known for his latex-clad extravagance, Quinn embodied London’s rebellious spirit. Over time, his vision has matured, deepening his dedication to craftsmanship, drama, and the timeless allure of haute couture. His embrace of opulence feels both unexpected and entirely his own, standing apart in a landscape driven by raw, experimental energy.

For his A/W 25 show, Quinn transported audiences to an ethereal, snow-capped estate where beauty felt both ephemeral and eternal—a world steeped in romantic nostalgia, blurring the lines between fantasy and fashion. The set was nothing short of breathtaking, with snowflakes drifting onto lampposts as models waded through soft, powdery drifts, bringing the scene to life with every step. The romance of December at Darcy’s Pemberley in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice came to mind, or Michelle Pfeiffer in the winter wonderland of Scorsese’s The Age of Innocence.

One after another, Quinn’s majestic muses stepped into the snow, a promenade of grandeur that spanned the 1930s to the 1980s while remaining distinctly modern. Among the standout looks was a breathtaking white satin gown, a vision of poetic romanticism. The silhouette, with its strong shoulders, delicate pleats, and cascading drapery, evoked the grace of haute couture, while exaggerated sleeves and ruffled cuffs added a touch of theatricality. A cinched waist—adorned with a dramatic black bow and a soft pink rose—balanced the gown’s fluidity, capturing Quinn’s ability to marry strength with softness.

The cinematic scene was reminiscent of a vintage portrait—an ethereal yet commanding presence. Quinn’s commitment to beauty is unwavering, and in this show, he didn’t just present garments; he created a world where fashion is a dream made tangible.
