Loop-de-looping around legs, haphazardly holding together a dress, and forming a squiggly handbag as if scrawled by a child—latex has never looked quite like this before. Kasia Kucharska is known for her finesse with the material, even winning the FCG/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2024 for her 3D-printed latex garments, which resemble lace. For her debut show at Berlin Fashion Week, the designer showcased what are fast becoming brand staples, such as her psychedelic textured tights and knobbly tops.
Toying with existing brand motifs, she stepped away from the lacy latex aesthetic in favour of painterly hot pink latex underthings, which peeked out from beneath crop tops, shorts, and gauzy dresses. Stitches—so passé—were even replaced by the material itself, fusing strips of knitwear to sheer mesh. But she also introduced new ideas, including fresh cotton shirting, reworked with ruching and puffed-up sleeves.
It’s all too easy for emerging designers to get tied to one shtick. That’s why Kucharska’s show was so exciting—rather than resting on its laurels, the brand went wild, reimagining its signature lace-cum-latex as a bold yet wearable skirt-and-top set that resembled an unspooled sweater, alongside covetable hats and even edgy shoes. Not to mention the non-latex looks, including flouncy shorts and bow-shaped bodysuits.
