Korean designer Juun J continues to explore the extremities of menswear in a collection that focused on shape. With a hyper modern approach to menswear, Juun J followed a similar route to Viktor & Rolf’s exaggerated silhouette. The designer’s inflated shoulder shape created experimental garments that were as challenging, as they were extraordinary in their construction.
Embedded in a dark palette, funnel neck trench coats and tailored wool jackets were nipped at the waist which further defined the top-heavy shape. While Interesting in terms of ideas and form, the lack of wearability in the collection prevented its existence from becoming convincing. On a good note - the final parade of models in coloured parkas presented an realistic approach to menswear and bought Juun J’s vision back to earth.
