Fashion Film: Collection X

by Rei Nadal on 18 January 2021

'A notion of utility and at the same time the presence of elegance in cloth and cut has translated directly into this collection.' John Alexander Skelton

Inspired by Jack Hulme's photographs of Yorkshire pit villages, John Alexander Skelton's latest collection looks to a 'grim sort of beauty', and how elegance can be found in utility. Film director Rei Nadal tracks Collection X as poetry rings out, read by family and friends, meditating on the familiar connections lost to modern times. A cast of men tread through streets paved in both ancient cobbles and tarmac, glimpsing into the fabrics of society which Skelton draws upon.
