Transforming my experiences, observations and interpretations of the world and its people into the visual and emotional language of the Arts is what inspires me to create.
I continuously strive to deliver a combination of the new, exciting and foreign with emotional depth and a deep understanding for the personal, historic and cultural context.

Utilising photography as my medium I am very passionate about traditional camera techniques and fusing them with images of the modern world.
My most recent exhibitions include My Self : My Other, Ãber Gallery; 48 stunden [melbourne], Gasworks Arts Park; Nocturnal Fantasies, Blender Gallery, 2006 Centre Awards, Centre for Photographic Art, California, USA and Rundgang, Staedelschule Frankfurt, Germany;
My most recent Artist Residency was at the Newington Armory, Sydney.
Next to my career as a Visual Artist it is of great importance to me to actively contribute to the community and to assist with the continuous education about Art and Culture. My activity in creative arts programming for children and adults, teaching and curation form some of my assistance to that purpose.

My most recent body of work, The Desire of the Other explores the theory that life is the product of a variety of external social influences and that any person is comprised of many diverse, fragmentary, and generally illusory, images of âselfâ.
To explore this theory further I observe a large variety of cultures, traditions, social structures and behaviour patterns around the world and intensively explore female identities within those.
I explore in depth the peculiarities of various female characters from contemporary society and also engage consciously with my own personal ego states.
By wholly immersing myself into each culture and persona, I explore the boundary between performance art and reality.
The stereotypically beautiful but tragic women are captured in different hotel rooms; the character of the rooms whether gaudy, austere, luxurious or plain, accentuates the contrived scenario in which these characters find themselves.
The hotel is the place for contemporary nomads, where a face easily becomes a façade and the opulent surroundings can soon become a backdrop to solitude and loneliness.
