Deacon Yu, 33, moved to Boston in 1992, where he earned his B.A. in Mathematics and B.S. in Economics. Relocated to New York City in 1995, he earned his B.F.A. in Fashion Design from Parsons. Upon graduation, with the help and advises of Cecilia Dean of Visionaire, he was exposed to the world of styling and magazines working under Alex White, the fashion director of W magazine. Eager to get back to designing, Deacon then was apprenticed to Geoffrey Beene and worked at Emanuel Emanuel Ungaro, Jean Yu and Patrick Robinson.
He co-founded Nneuhs, an independent accessories label, in 2000. With Nneuhs, he worked on different projects with established labels such as Nike, the Gap, J. Crew, Playboy, BMW Lifestyle, Brooks Brothers, etc.
