Ostwald Helgason was launched in 2006 by Susanne Ostwald and Ingvar Helgason.

Susanne was born 1979 in Leipzig, Germany and graduated from Burg Giebichenstein in Halle with a MA degree (First-Class Honours) in Fashion Design.
Ingvar was born 1980 in Reykjavik, Iceland, studied Fashion Design in Copenhagen and worked as a tailor in Iceland before taking on studies in Fashion Management and Marketing in London.

The collections are characterized by eclectic looks that are rich in prints and strong colours. We combine elegance with sportswear, conceptual ideas and complexity with wearability and voluminous shapes with sharp tailoring.

We strive to make perfectly cut garments with a surreal twist that reflect our infatuation with the modern era art movement, antique tribal sculptures and oddities found in nature. While our garments are made from intricate patterns, they seem effortless when worn which gives them certain accessibility.
