SHOWstudio: As well as the live web cams and video, Nick
is taking photographs onto large format Polaroid (see cam 4).
Hakka: does nk need any freelance photo assistants? hak_ka@hotmail.com
Laurent from Paris: please, just ask to Olivier (Zora's boy) : 'Olivier, are you Minoxidil ??' thanks
Francoise: Olivier, je reve ou tu roules un joint devant les cameras du monde entier ? Tu me fais honte...
Garry Barlow: Who's that big bald man?
SHOWstudio: The 'big' man is Stylist Simon Foxton, Fashion Editor of SHOWstudio.
marcelo nunes: I'm brazilian and a big fan of Knight's work, I have a
little question. Is Simon Foxton the stylist of all Nick Knight's shoots?
SHOWstudio: Simon and Nick first started working together in 1984, doing work on Levis, Big magazine and i-D amongst others - but no,
Nick works with various stylists depending on the campaign.
Robin Derrick [Creative Director of UK Vogue]: hi how are you ? Can I see another polaroid please.
SHOWstudio: Dear Robin - You know exactly how long it takes - as you can see, we're still on hair and make-up! Its not even lunchtime yet! -Nick
Elisa Rusconi/YSL: We love the dress! Thank you! Good luck with the shoot.
SHOWstudio: Elisa/YSL - we're glad you like it - stayed tuned!

allan finamore: looks great...we've been watching all day.
Marisol: Do you have any tips for putting the models at ease during an embarrassing shoot?
SHOWstudio: Marisol - Nick says there's no easy way of making models feel at ease during shoots except trying to be yourself, and being honest. - Olivier's just told us he was fine during the whole
shoot!
Marisol: Well, he certainly looks fine throughout!
Alese: Are you all having fun? Zora and Olivier are HOT! Hi Nick, love your work.
Corinne: when does it start?
SHOWstudio: Corinne - we're between events at the moment. There's another part starting shortly. Stay tuned. There are several events throughout the day.
Cértán: how many lights are you guys using on the models? what are you using as a keylight
SHOWstudio: There are two lights on the front, a softbox and a pewter umbrella, and the keylight is the umbrella. The background was lit with six Elincron 3000's (Heads).
Eric Drapeau: How much energy does it take to invest in this?
Juan Lasterra: Thank you very much to keep this page alive, to Nick and all the team. I love the work you do. Is so great...

or comments for the team live, click the 'dialogue' button at the top of the

SHOWstudio: Zoe - The Liberty Ross shoot was lit with one single Elinchrom
A3 Head with dish reflector.
Eric Drapeau: what are you playing in the background? (music)
SHOWstudio: We are listening to here is one of 'nick's awful compilations' (his words!)
Zoe: ok I''ve read the answer thank u. How do u put the light? from
down to up or centered to liberty? And... Where do u feel the
inspirations for the models posing? I find this a problem. Any suggestion? the result of the shoot of liberty is postproduction result? is that close to reality? which camera do you use and which lens do you prefer?
SHOWstudio: We're afraid Nick is really busy at the moment and therefore
can't give complex answers to large, specific questions.
Galen Pehrson: who is the best dancer out of all of you.
SHOWstudio: Simon Foxton claims he's the greatest dancer.
Zoe: when u think is possible to chat a bit with nick? Thanx
SHOWstudio: We're afraid as you can see Nick's very busy and cannot
necessarily answer all questions. Sorry!
Zoe: Sorry. :) but its exciting! One last question. Is he using
again the dish as a main light? Is just a white wall in the background?
SHOWstudio: In answer to the question asked there's a white infinity curve
in the background. Lighting the same as before!
Francois: What time are you finishing?

Day two
SHOWstudio: Camera one is showing the line up of events for today. Everyone is setting up right now, but if you look closely you can see some of the participants in the bottom of the overview cam (3)
yan: I saw a lot of photos in camera 4, what's that for?
SHOWstudio: The photos on camera 4 are the Polaroids from
yesterday. As well as the live webcast, Nick is shooting the whole thing on
10x8 Polaroid.
Zoe: Hi, the liberty ross flower shoot was shot in 8x10 too? thanx for the attention. What's the best thing about being a fashion photographer?
SHOWstudio: Nick says the best thing about being a photographer
is the performance and the process...
Alex: What are you getting the featured artists to do?
tiffany in Tokyo: why did you choose to air these shoots in particular on showstudio, and where will the final images be seen? also, is there a there a gender related theme or conection to the essay on the site by shaun cole?
SHOWstudio: - We're not divulging what individual artists are doing yet, the best way to find out is to watch! Pictures from yesterday will be available in a later project.
Ian: What is the ammount of pre planning compaired with 'spur of the
moment' insperation on a shoot like this? thank you
SHOWstudio: Ian - Nick says its about half and half planning and 'spur of
the moment'. We generally know what the idea for a performance is - but
there's a huge selection of clothes, so they may be chosen only a few moments before the event.
cristina: i really loved yesterday's shooting with the girl in the black dress and the naked boy ...
Christian: How sexual is a fashion performance?
Damien: What is it you think you are doing?
Barbara: I say! that's a bit racey isn't it?
Yvonne Goodrich: Hello, i wonder if you could tell me, who's dog is that in Cam 2 and what's it's name?
SHOWstudio: The dog belongs to Sarah from Darling Productions - who did the casting... The dog is called Jones, and is drinking Evian (only since we
don't have a tap here!)!
stankens: just wanna let you know i like this idea a lot, that putting all these photo shooting live on the web, thanks =)
Heather Green Who's dog is that?
Nathan Lewis: where is Camera One positioned?
SHOWstudio: Nathan - camera one is directly under Nick's real camera, so
you see what he sees. Which is Nick's assistant Dominic right now!
Jan: When do we get to see the lovely Shaun Leane? Say hello from Jan!
SHOWstudio: That is Juergen Teller on Cam one.
Sam: Hi Juergen! What do you suggest to a young photographer to emerge?
SHOWstudio: Sam, as Juergen's agent I would say you have to stick to your
vision and pursue it through channels true to that!.
Ki: Is chrisr still in a grump?
Yours: Is this one of Shaun's creations?
SHOWstudio: Yes, the roses are Shaun's creations.
emily knight: daddy , mummy now regrets not staying as she has seen the silver man. we all wanted to stay. now calum is being moaning hope you feal better from eml
