At the beginning of March, SHOWstudio opened auditions to find six artists or ensemble groups to perform at a secret location on the evening of April 11 as part of an experimental ‘happening’. As audition material we accepted either uploaded performance footage or written proposals detailing your concepts. Our one condition was that your piece stayed faithful to the ‘mood’ of one of our six performance zones. Click through to find out more about the process and to see images of the venue.

On April 11 SHOWstudio staged a live ‘happening’ in association with PlayStation 3. The event was attended by an audience of fifty SHOWstudio viewers at a secret location and was also broadcast live on the SHOWstudio website.
The SHOWstudio Revue created a dynamic performance space in which six different ‘zones’ were defined by a series of experimental situations that took inspiration from fashion, music or art. Acts on the night included: Neon E Roulette; Strip Me Bare; CWTCH; Natalie Monroe; Aitor Throup & Jez Tozer and Natalie Fish & Russell Sage.
During the REVUE, members of the audience were given video cameras on which to document the evening’s events. The rushes from the night were used in the final edit of a film that can currently be seen on the website, with each filmmakers’ name appearing in the main credits.
