Editing software: After Effects

Biography: “I work as a Multimedia Designer creating film websites - I have made a couple of short films. I would like to do more pieces like this SHOWstudio project, perhaps using mixed media too.”

Statement: “I was debating whether to use Final Cut Pro or After Effects for this project, I decided to use After Effects because I wanted to be free to experiment with effects if I wished. In the end - once I chose the music I went along with the narrative of the music and the mood. The images I used were quite beautiful so I explored how they merged together. I played around with colouring some of the footage so that it would cut better with the scene which followed, I also played around with blurring some images and reversing the footage. The music inspired the title City of Angels, purely because of its feel”
