Where Dreams Converge

Biography: “I studied fashion for a time at art school but changed courses and took up Graphic and typographic design. After a spell in publishing as an art editor I stayed at home to have babies and play house. Because friends were continually asking for help and advice when they were decorating their homes I set up an interior design business which eventually took over our lives and our home. I started making "movies" a little over 18 months ago, after a bad bout of 'flu meant that I took up residence on the sofa for 6 months. Having watched every repeat on satellite TV, I discovered the History Channel and noticed that a lot of the "footage" was actually made using stills. Miraculously cured, I made my first film, using animated stills, which was shown shortly afterwards at Elefest 2003. Using stills was a good way for me to learn my craft. I have recently acquired a digital video camera, but still cannot resist using animation, so I usually combine the two techniques. This is the first time I have edited someone elses footage and it was great fun.”

Statement: “John Galliano said that this collection was inspired by a trip to Buenos Aries, so I have tried to capture the spirit of the Tango. Velvet's dream completely captured the essence of the show, and echoes Galliano's thoughts perfectly - a true convergance of souls.”
