Built in the late eighteenth century in response to the English craze for ‘Neo-Palladianism’, Horace Walpole’s Strawberry Hill is perhaps the finest surviving example of Gothic Revival architecture in Britain. Read all about the development and history of Strawberry Hill in Kathleen Mahoney’s essay about the house as well as detailed notes on each of the specific rooms in which Nick Knight’s Moët Chandon tribute will be staged by John Iddon.

THE COMPETITION IS NOW OVER
In the month running up to the Nick’s Moët Chandon tribute, viewers were asked to compete for a golden ticket to the Bal Masqué by guessing each of the twelve mystery muses that posed for the image on the invitation to the ball. Working from four sets of clues on each –an abstracted portrait of each by Nick Knight, a description by the designer that proposed them, a heavily disguised clip of them talking and finally a visual anagram by Shona Heath- clever Ronit Yadin from London finally guessed that the muses were as follows: Kate Moss, Sara Stockbridge, Tafari, Charlotte Stockdale, Camilla Nickerson, Katy England, KT Shillingford, Asia Argento, Roland Mouret, Morgane Dubled, Gisele Bundchen and Ali Richards.

Nick Knight has been chosen to receive the prestigious Moët & Chandon Fashion Tribute 2006. To mark the occasion, he is staging a lavish and spectacular Masked Ball on Tuesday 24th October. The event will be attended by a wealth of international personalities from the world of fashion, photography, film, music, and art who have worked with Nick throughout his 25+ year career. The full proceedings will be broadcast live on SHOWstudio and the run up to the event will be documented in detail on the site. Nick has challenged ten designers and one stylist with whom he has worked most closely to design an outfit, complete with mask for a ‘muse’ of their choosing, who will wear it to the ball. In addition, there is an unique opportunity for two SHOWstudio viewers to win a much-coveted ticket by designing an outfit and mask for our ‘You Shall Go to the Ball’ competition. All twelve designs will be auctioned after the event, with proceeds to go to The Princes Trust.
