NAOMI: Nick and Naomi's V Magazine Shoot
The new Naomi pictures are now in our gallery! Last January, if you remember, Nick Knight shot Naomi Campbell for V magazine wearing some extravagant couture dresses that had appeared merely days before at the private defilés of Paris Couture Week. Tomorrow sees the release of V, in which a defiantly Amazonian Naomi models a selection of white goddess gowns from Dior, Gaultier, Lacroix, Givenchy, Valentino, Armani and Chanel, while deliquescing into splashes of intense colour. NAOMI: Rolling with Tina...in Alaïa!
No doubt you've got your copy of V and seen Naomi's splendid Couture spreads. What you didn't see on set in January, however, was La Campbell's impeccable TINA TURNER IMPRESSION, which the model was staging in the hair and make-up room upstairs (and neither did we because Sam McKnight was practically barricading the door!). So here, at last, is Naomi -resplendent in frilly Alaïa- 'rolling' with Steven Klein, and graciously commenting on her spell doing community service. What a pro!

NAOMI: Daniel Brown's Work In Progress
Work on the moveable 3D version of Naomi Campbell continues. (Listen to Nick Knight's original brief where he explains how an interactive will illuminate the contours of a supersize statue of Naomi here). Daniel Brown has now produced a work in progress test for us to look at, about which he says the following:
"The work-in-progress is investigating realtime 3D technology, with the aim of allowing paint, pencil, type and special effects to be applied dynamically by the user - to give them a participation in the aesthetic-process. The 3D model has been converted into 80,000 3D pixels, each able to change colour interactively. With the final model, we're hoping to allow detail to be applied at a much finer scale, almost akin to make-up."

NAOMI: V Sneak Preview
V magazine must be receiving the same volume of mail about the print version of January's live broadcast of our Couture shoot with Naomi as they've posted a trailer for the shoot, which we believe will be published w/c 14 May. Who are we to deny you the same privilege?

For those of you who watched Nick's live shoot on Monday and Tuesday with Miss Naomi Campbell you may like to know that the final results will appear in print in the Summer edition of V Magazine: on sale 15 May 2007.

NAOMI: Shoot Ended
With seven fashion shots and a still-life completed, the shoot has now ended. Naomi has gone off into the night, wearing the beautiful Couture boots gifted to her by Givenchy. Well, she looked damn fine in them and...that's what you get for asking nicely!
Don't forget: there is still a sculpture to make and an interview to schedule, so you've not heard the last of Ms Campbell just yet!
