'Untitled' by Mikio Sakabe
Our second contribution of the day again comes from a Japanese designer, but the dark vision of Seiko Taki couldn’t be further away in spirit from Mikio Sakabe’s Future Tense film. Centred around sepia-toned retro-futuristic images of sixties Japan, intercut with a recurring Space-age meet Machine-age ‘M’ logo straight out of Metropolis, Sakabe’s film seems to be a tongue-in-cheek examination of the power and lure of both the brand, and fashion obsession with the past.

In a kind of an esoteric manner, there is something strangely ' beautiful ' and eerie about Mikio Sakabe's FUTURE TENSE contribution .... and what a perfect tune to encompass the senses ... !
