'Denk Ich An Deutschland In Der Nacht / Thinking of Germany In The Night' by Frank Leder and Gregor Hohenberg

An empty birdcage, a beer-stein in the shape of an equestrian boot, a miniaturised Alpine forest, an oddly indeterminate piece of meat. These are hardly standard fodder for fashion film, but we never expected anything commonplace from Frank Leder’s contribution to Future Tense. Created with Gregor Hohenberg, Denk Ich An Deutschland In Der Nacht / Thinking of Germany In The Night is, in Frank’s own words, very much about a German sense of humour, comprised of seemingly unrelated vignettes rotating in 360-degrees giving us an insight into the mentality behind his design aesthetic. Slightly surreal, oddly fascinating, occasionally uncomfortable, compulsive viewing : whatever your opinion of Leder’s film, it is - like his clothing – nothing if not unique.

Surrealistically intriguing! ..... but , indeed, it's all about the essence....
