'Chimaera' by Todd Lynn and John Bland
Today marks the launch of our Future Tense film season, offering the latest generation of fashion stars the opportunity to express their creative visions through moving image. To begin, we have a piece by the London-based designer Todd Lynn, whose androgynous, attenuated silhouettes have garnered international plaudits and afforded him a meteoric rise. His film, created with director John Bland, explores the abstract themes inspiring his A/W 2008 collection Chimaera: a term simultaneously applied to both a mythical, Homeric hybrid of different beasts and a form of genetic mutation - a mix of tradition and futurism fundamental to Lynn’s design philosophy.
Between 18 August and 18 September, new Future Tense films will be launched daily on SHOWstudio, interspersed with essays and features exploring themes raised by the designers selected, the films presented and the underlying concepts of the Future Tense programme.

Exciting project ! ... in the quest for the superhuman, the last shot seems to translate that feeling of the future in a very subtle way , pretty scaring such a possible reality .... humans and pseudo-humans ..... in the distance
