Roksanda Ilincic on the 1st Day of Christmas
To celebrate the twelve days of Christmas (that's the period from Boxing Day through to Epiphany, if we're old-school) SHOWstudio has invited some of international fashion's leading lights to showcase their choice of inspirational and inspired images, focussed on the theme of 'light' and refracted through the facets of a Swarovski crystal in our exclusive Christmastide interactive project. We open our series with Roksanda Ilincic, whose deconstructed cocktail dressing has been a highlight of London Fashion Week for many a season. In line with her recent presentation as part of the V&A's Fashion In Motion program, Roksanda's image selection was captured during backstage preparations for her A/W 2008 and S/S 2009 collections - with photographs by Bill Baldwin, Claire Robertson and Roksanda herself capturing the lightness of both Ilincic's colour-saturated silks and the delicate couture details of her much-lauded collections.
Each day between 26 December 2008 and 6 January 2009, we will showcase the work of a dozen international fashion designers who have contributed their own unique choice of images to our Christmastide selection.
