A few years ago I went to see a major exhibition at Hamiltons gallery in London of the photographic fashion pictures by Micheal Roberts, as the exhibition was on there was a film running shot I think in black and white on 16 mm film. , it was shot in a woodland setting with smoke from a generator going throughn the woods with elfin like guys and wearing horns and big beaming smiles. The film was set to classical music and ran for about 10-15 minutes.
I t was a piece of poetry to watch. This is what I look for in my work, an image or a video film should tell me. I wish I had done that, or how was that done.
If you look at the thought process behind the story board pictures of Dwain Micheals. Some of it is very complicated as its like puting a puzzle together, the fourth or fifth picture in the story has to be taken first as there is an image from the first always in this later picture, in someways that is the diffrence between digital media and analogue, in the earlier picture making you had to plan a lot more to create a story, in digital you can change situations or add an image withinan image as you go along.
