Ive been very fascinated about others oppinions and views and foundings about if fashion photography will go to the next level and that we not only will have clothingdesigners coming out with their collections on film but that the photography will move into moving images , short films, to show an editorial. Is FLY dvd mag on the right track??

what are your views, examples, ideas, etc?????

It seems odd that you ask this question on a site which is not only in the course of showing a fashion film project( the increasingly absorbing Political Fashion) but also probably the one site which has almost single handedly invented fashion film!!And that has been showing fashion designers that are using film instead of a catwalk e.g. Hussein Chalayan, Bernard Wilhelm, Yves Saint Laurent,

Show Studio is doing that already, making short films. And the fashion commercials, usually perfume ads, are doing short films already. They have been existing since ready to wear debut to the world. Vogue, Vanity Fair and Style.com already are making editorials in the form of short films. Verushka was making short films in the 60's that's related to fashion. I love still photography, I think still and motion pictures are 2 different mediums, and people will find what's suitable for them I don't think still photography and fashion magazines will phase out, ever.

The virtual world is allowing people to explore new avenues to promote fashion, that's the big change, but in terms of motion picture to tell a fashion story, there had been over the years different designers who used that medium and presented them on TV.
