I had the previlege to witness a process of using a especially built large format camera(larger than the largest, 20" by 24" polaroid camera built in the 70's). The team was creating a 1920's fashion theme. The process of make up and hair of 3 hours, then it was an hour to set up the camera and the light, then each photo was $75 dollars to produce, it's not cheap the team couldn't waste each polaroid. So the creative process(once the model was in front of the camera)felt stiff, not spontenous enough. Anyone had the experience of working with the 20"by24" camera and how was the experience like? I just felt it could have been more spontaneous, perhaps just went more extreme with the contrast of lighting, or have the model moved more freely in front of the camera until the photograher found the right feel of the angle, or even try to do some test with lighting with the digital camera, to warm things up more.
