I have read lots of Chinese essays on this movie, the debates and analysis have been from the meanings and importance of the sex scenes to historic facts, to Eileen Cheng's original version vs. Lee's version. This is a success for Ang Lee if his movie is being talked and written about for weeks since debut in Asia. Please share your views on this film if you have seen it. I have not yet seen it(no time) but will definitely go see it once I have the chance.

Yes, please do, I am really interested in finding any views written on Lust, Caution. I am interested because the chore of the story is so dark and complexed with human emotions of the mirky territories. There have been discussions of the relationship, comparing it to the nature of the hunter and the hunted, and the sex scenes are supposed to show the changes within their relationship, from not trusting and wanting to dominate to a sharing of pleasure, which is a big turning point of the basis of their relationship.

I saw the movie last night. IT's Good. Characters are complexed and realistic, dark and intense. The sex scenes which gathered lots of debates, I thought they were necessary, they explained the characters' intension and emotions. The two main characters are 2 lonely people, and for her, the mission turned into something passionate and emotionally torturous. Sex can break down people and make people vulnerable. She was broken down by great sex, lust. IT's really complexed, I could watch it again and again. All gave really good performances, Tang Wei is very sexy-even with all her clothes on.
