Whilst some of my friends on this site are getting in to the same situation I was getting in to, I.E having personel battles with other on the forum I would like to change the subject to Mr Ewrin Olaf. As a portrat photographer his work is very imaginative and outstanding, weather he works in black and white or colour he shows a lot of imagination and originality in his aproach to the mixed medium of photography.
He has been around for quite a long time and produced a few very collectable books, just before last christmas 2oo5 he produst a highly retrospective of his work , which also looked at the Britich royals in a slightly macabra way with a fantastic portrait of a Princes Diana look alike. Creative photography at its best slightly dark but very imaginative, somone in the forum mentioned him a while ago and I had forgot to mention him earlier, he has a webasite I think at www.erwinolaf.com., if not check with google.
A couple of years ago Bruno Grumunda produced a book called Luxury I think which showed the work of another clever photographerm, shot shot in blascvk and white then sepia toned and hand coloured pictures of the male by an Australian fashion photographer, whos name I can not remember. Both books should be in my collection of great photographers.
All the best to my friends on this site Sebastion, lets stop knocking each othe

he is one of my favourite photographer, i loved his works since a friend of mine from netherland brought me a book of erwin olaf photographs and showed me the website. his works are very integral, from the photography to his digital imagings, they are great, i especially like the clowns one. and do u know that for his most of his personal projects, he used ordinary people instead of models? he just picked people from the streets and asked them to join a project with him. he is amazing!!!!

Yes Refrence your downs picture Erwin did a series of pictures in colour which where outsanding pictures of children and people with downs syndrom, the pictures where done in mixed media tearing burning and re clouring the pictures and making great use of studio lighting which glamourised these very interesting people.
I came across his work first when I was working in Brussels a few years ago.
It is great to see the use of photography and mixed media taken away from the digital effects that everyone else is using, there is room for both though.
I think that as things move on there will still be a lot of scope for traditional ways of taking photographs and then taking it beyond eother in mixed media or then in to digital effects, I am working in this direction already.
I think that even though some of Erins work is dark he is one of the more imaginative photographers around.

his montages photos of the clowns is a great montage technic, and what i love about him also, because he produced art works besides commercial works, and he also expand into video and film, which is great... he's not limited only in one subject or one style, even his artworks have different styles and colours, but it still got his soul in it. it's amazing, this world of art and phorography, when yu think you've seen all, there's always some people who showed up with another amazing ideas and treatments to make it look new and fresh.

Such praise for a great man, is it time that the U.K Fashion magazines hired him for some shoot? I could well imagin his work fitting in well with Pop Magazine or Another Magazine, and yes I agree I think as an art house photographer he is one of the most creative of today expanding in to multi media instead of looking for the constantly easy way out, like a lots of othere photographers.
Still trying to rememer the Australian fashion photographer who produced a very creative book called Luxury through Bruno Grumunda.?
