There are only less than a handful of models who are/were muses, Jean Shrimpton was muse to David Bailey, Verushka was a muse to many photographers, Gia Carangi in the old Versace ad campaign, Ines and Karl Largerfeld for Chanel, Christy Turlington to Arthur Elgort, and there's no escape to mention Kate Moss. Not only were(are) they muses to fashion, we the viewers also became transfixed by them, it's not just something between the photographer and the subject, but somehow is it through some repetition of constantly seeing them in magazines that we became amused by them? But it's not so because there are many hot models whose faces we see all the time within the span of 2 years, but only very few that could leave impressions strong enough that they started to stand out from the crowd, even fewer that could go down in fashion history. Fashion muses are not discovered, they are products of evolution through the work and collaborations they have with people in fashion. Yet not all pretty and capable models who work constantly could become muses.
