In no way is denim dead at all. People use denim all the time and will keep using it for years to come. Why? People have been using it for the longest, ever sense the eight-teen century. People used denim because the material was very strong and would not wear out easily. Why did this help? Man people worked in factories and in factories that had lots of machinery. They also did not have the money to spend on many pairs of jeans there for they needed to be made out of strong material. During the 1950’s it was not just people who worked in factories who wore them, but also rebels were starting to wear them too. It helps them give off the image that they were tough guys. Take for instance James Dean who was a rebel and wore denim. Then during the 1960’s people came and went but denim was still in. of course though it too changed it’s out look. People were starting to style them with a flare at the bottom of the leg. Then during the 80’s many fashion designers were starting to style their own brand of jeans. Some with colorful designs, others with jewelry, and with many other crazy stuff. Although the denim jean hit a bump in the road when people started to wear them bleached at the knees. It was awful and that trend should not be repeated again. Now in this century people have taken a boring pair of denim jeans and have made them their own. Almost every famous fashion designer, singer and celebrity has their own brand of jeans. Denim will always be in fashion, it will change as time goes on, but it will never be out of style. But let’s just all hope that it still stays the strong material it is.
