Good GOD, no! We don't care. KVA doesn't seem like much of a revelation in his place, however. Obviously Dior are erring on the side of good taste, which hopefully means no more embarrassing guitars or Union Jacks.
He has gone.Good news or bad? Weren't we all bored of all that in anycase?

i beg to differ... hedi was an incredibly influential designer, he and raf simons totally remade the way young men look, his timing and image were impeccable. unfortunately he designed himself into a corner, but with his own label- which i assume comes next, although that may prove difficult- i hope he can try something new. like womenswear. or he could keep on with the attenuated-boys thing, and i wouldn't mind that either.
KVA isn't anything special. i think he'll hold Dior Homme together for a couple of years while sales and reputation ebb away... and then Dior will have to find someone new. someone Japanese.

This is Van Asscher for Fall......
What is great about his vision is that he understands men.....he knows how a man wants to look...masculine and no nonsense...He equally understands that men’s fashion is totally different to women’s ....and he knows very well that it must sell ....He uses materials the right way...exquisite black coats!
As far as Dior goes they have made an excellent choice...Van Asscher makes men look modern...energetic and to certain extent he adds a air of rawness in a sophisticated way ....He understands beautifully how and what masculine aesthetics are.....the line is superb...that is very promising...
And In my humble opinion Dior made the right choice....and the right choice is to understand what is in the air......and translate it to the consumer .....Fashion is about new ideas but new ideas are not enough to keep moving....it is always the right vibes at the right time.......
Wish him great success !

.......interesting word.........' understand '....the most complicated, intricate word ever !....it has to accommodate as many ' me ' as possible...including....even those who do not understand or cannot be understood for reasons beyond understanding.....poor Assche...may the force be with him !.....LOL...:)

There is a very sincere statement posted on his homepage -http://www.hedislimane.com-, attempting to answer all the rumours and set the record straight. It would bring a tear to a glass eye!

Thank you for letting us know.....beautiful and very sincere indeed his statement about his own decision to depart from Dior..... very courageous to take such a huge step....
A pity it didn't work for him the way he wished because unarguably he is a very talented designer .
