It all matters I agree. We all need inspiration and to dream about everything and anything and have beauty in life, practical or not, everything is important to how we are and the way we are and how civilization has become.

In my other thread I mentioned Vivienne Westwood is having an retropspective in SF, there's one very inspirational designer, she has made people feel it's ok to be provocative, and dress provocatively and be yourself and be everything you want to be. Her designs are wicked, outragious and traditional and well crafted all in the same time.

Madonna for H&M, just wondering if anybody had checked out the line? I had read the quality is low-as far as the workmanship, and even for the that price point is too much to pay.

...yes..indeed...and the sad thing is to see how greedy Madonna really is.....instead of promoting young upcoming designers...and letting true professional upcoming models to take the stand .....she is in fact becoming, in my humble opinion, a caricature of herself...
I mean have you ever heard of Norman Desmond ?.......in that scene where she is again the centre of attention and the lights ( at least in her mind )...or that other Hollywood classic ...'Whatever Happened to Babe Jane ? "...who would not let it go because she just couldn't except the fact that she no longer was relevant......some people do make fool of themselves.....but hey the catalogue is very well done with that mix of Barbarella, SM, 40's glamour and spiced with her ever so dominant en imposing sense of self-confidence..and air....of the well known to the world....charitable lady who really really cares....

Madonna is the same from beginning to now-she is an over-acheiver. She wanted the limelight and to be famous, and to stay in the spot light. She is a perfoming artist, and her source of references are all over the place, she is never really original except her guts, she is gutsy, I give her credit for that, and her stage presence is strong and she is a great perfomer. Madonna's tool is her body and her intensity. She is a bit full of herself tough, sometimes sounds preachy when she tries to get her point across. The best movie picture of hers to this day is still 'Truth or Dare'.

......your description is true to the letter.....and yet I think that her biggest and real talent lies in marketing...she is just the best marketing guru around...She is a singer.....children's book writer...actress...religious devotee...anti-establishment activist.....human's right campaigner...cares about the poor....pin-up girl....fashion designer....model....you name it !...who could ever be such unlikely mixture....all at once ??...I can think of no one but Madonna...I think her next move will be to become a show hostess...to be able to stay in the spotlight...not bad...I must say she looks beautiful in the H&M adds....

She should give lectures about how to sell yourself and help upcoming talented people ... Many truly talented people do lack that aspect....modesty never gets you anywhere if you want to be in the spotlight....Of course it all depends on what people find important and relevant in life.....everyone is different and have different values and principles to live by......whatever makes people happy....:):):)
