Yes true.....in any case the idea wasn't born just out of desperation to be in the limelight......that is when things can and go wrong more often than not ....and she is not pretending to be a designer either....
H&M has become to focused on hype....and hype is a deadly 'ally' in the fashion business always....and as you mentioned the quality is important and consumers want that at a fair price....

Very sportive and wise to let a colleague model to show the collection...I like that because it will not distract the focus from the collection....

In terms of H&M focused on hype, the 15 minute look of the moment strategy, it's all good, there are tons of consumers who want that, they can never afford high fashion, and they want something fun and trendy.

Kate is clever to exit the modeling end by casting a new model who embodies the spirits of her collection. That's the better thing to do than to model the line herself.

The Look Book for the KM line is out, what do you all think-from marketing to art direction to photography and to the clothes? This is a first glimpse of Kate as a fashion director and artistic director. Kate modeled some of the clothes a good way to show that an older woman could wear these and look youthful. Everything was what I had expected-it's a safe move to copy from her own wardrobe.

"Sexy"-but no one expected less than sexy. I found the line more polished and lesser rough edge then Kate's own daily style. This line is more girly-the way it's presented. I think the denim seperates are snappy, Kate has an eye for details and with Topshop design team they can definitely explore new treatments to denims and new ideas to inject into denim design. I think the accessory line will be exploded-the cluches, the shoes, scarfs, eyewear.

....yes the denim idea has lots of potential as to be reborn as the 'it' item....but it must not 'shout'....if you know what I mean.....
She is certainly having fun... that makes it genuine too and what is also nice is that her positive attitude and radiant personality rubs on the clothes....

Subdued 'details' are often the key to the success.....

Now the line is out-what do you think? And for those lucky ones who actually went there and touched and examined the clothes? Be objective about the priceline and quality and the store presentations and merchandising.
