....I think China will become the most powerful country on earth...its dominant position as far as commerce is concerned puts them in the favourable position of beign able to become a world dominant power and to impose its wishes..look at how Google cave in ...who would had thought that Google would comply ? ...history in the making !...a very dangerous combination...market dominance with limited freedoms....Unless indeed it decides to follow the example of the United States...a great but a benign power...with its faults and virtues....where human rights are a birth right....and no one, the state or otherwise has de 'divine 'right to take them away from the individual..

I really don't think that you can say the USA's example is benign ,
have you had a look at things lately ?

...really ?...well it seems that sometimes we tend to be selective when pointing the finger at the USA...but what about Tibet and the horrible atrocities done to its people?...it seems that that is long forgotten and why not ?...Taiwan and its stand off?...Poetins Russia'with its Chechenia ?....between two evils I'll always chose the less evil...if you can understand what I mean...

The world is not perfect, but the kind of act the US has done-occupaying Iraq when they didn't attack, has a huge impact gloabally. Other conflicts are of regional, the US did affected global oil prices, and escalated terrorists attacks in the West. Bush blocked the progress of science(stem cell research), using terms of it being not humane not ethetical by using human stem cells-uh? And it's ethetical for people to suffer illnesses when there's a hope scientifically for a breakthrough? And it's ethical to occupay a country without a comprehensive plan to fix it? What's terrible, extremely hated by pepole about Bush is he is a hypocrite. He drained the country into bankruptcy, and remember New Orlean? If New Orlean was Beverly Hills, I bet we wouldn't see New Orlean looking like the state it's in today.

I think The European Union can become just as strong a force along with China. I hope there will be more than one major force. And I don't think China will try to impose its ideology the way US has done, and globalizes products the way the US has done with McDonald's, Coca Cola, Nike, all the products we know now. I think people will discover the products from China and market them in the mass markets outside of China.

the European Union is a big economic power ...but that is all...They cannot agree amomg themselves..that is why it has stagnated politically and somehow it's getting out of hand...it cannot or it doesn't have the will to call Poland to order in the case of Gay rights...It's unbelievable that they persecute Gay people...while the protection of minorities is one of the basic principles of the European Union...
It is a weak power...with no lidership or a clear vision on how to move forward ...Sarkozy seems to be the only one emerging as a stateman...ready to push France in the right direction....who by the way only wants to defend French interests..within the Union..and as a matter of fact the countries who opted to stay out of the Union are doing a lot better economically...

Googled caved in, they didnt have to. CNN caves to the Bush administration too, the way they report news is not hardcore and indept and unbias. People don't see on CNN images of the war in Iraq like images you would see on European news. People who are more liberal in the US don't just watch CNN, they don't try to watch CNN in fact, they try to watch the BBC, German English news, if you are from Asia, you would watch news from Hong Kong, but never just watch CNN. CNN is softcore bias stuff.

....I'm sorry to say that Google had no choice.....otherwise they wouldn''t had done it...and to compare CNN, forgive me but that is rather far fetched..because CNN is just A TV station...and very predictable it will defend its own interests...while Google is all about uncensored freedom of information...available to anyone on the planet...if possible...

SO Google is just a business after all, CNN is a news network, and journalists what their work is about is to bring truth. The business people who run CNN are not journalists and are about the revenue, well so is Google. I could tell on certain journalists faces some were annoyed by having to cover Paris Hilton.
