Future Tense is all about breaking new ground and House of Flora’s contribution is entirely in this pioneering spirit. Against a futuristic, cinematic landscape populated by her severe, geometric accessories and trademark moulded felt hair-hat hybrid ‘Hairts’, Dress No. 1 – naturally enough - documents Flora McLean’s first dress under the House of Flora label. More than just documentary, however, the film is an outright celebration of the startlingly, bravely new, something fashion has long been accused of abandoning in favour of endless soulless revivalism.
