Sandrine.
I used to know people like that at school, who would just shout at you if you had a problem, they all ended up working in Boots. The reason why I like Amy is because she has morals in human behaviour TOWARDS people, it's probably to hide all the stuff in her mind which she ends up taking out on herself. Did you see her on Never Mind the Buzzcocks when she told the girls on the programme not to face being ridiculed by Simon Amstell? She's a sweetheart, leave her and us charming depressants alone please, it's artistic.

Thanks for your message, Luce, but people like what, exactly? Perhaps I'm not following your admirably constructed argument but are you contending that the route for all feminists is Boots the Chemist? It's a radical position, granted.

I have no truck with people liking Amy Winehouse -for God's sake- it's more the vampyric gawping over another 'Disaster Woman' that's distasteful. Hackneyed. And unworthy of this Forum. Or perhaps, sadly, entirely worthy.

Goodness Gracious ! ...I would hate to think that because of what is being discussed in the forum is so frightening terrible, low , immoral and devastating as to make you lose your beauty sleep !!! ... and by the way do pardon me but ... talking about ' distasteful and unworthy" ( whatever that may mean to you ) isn't the way you phrase your disgust rather ... how can I put.... ' unworthy ' of someone who is involved in the matters of Education... that I find rather .......... comical ..... :):):)... no offence meant , I just cannot help to notice that time and time again .... LOL!

I was listening to her live performance, the one where she wore a pink and yellow tiny dress. She was really good then, and she has presence. I found her singing to be very captivating. I think it's unfair to judge a talented singer(she clearly demonstrated her range of ability)at this early stage. She could just stand there, without fancy background dancers, without fancy set up, and sings emotions, tones, with sometimes not perfect pitch but still people can't take their eyes and ears off her. I thihk she has a special gift. I would pay attention to whatever she sings, the materials don't matter to me. I just think her vioice is amazing. I want to hear how she would interpret songs of different gengre.

It may sound cruel... but I find it rather funny this performance of hers .... I'm sure you haven't seen it yet , it is so good in a weird way that I was wondering if she was just fooling the public ..... because she still can ' follow ' the melody and somehow keep her composure under control .... But indeed however much of a pastiche , karaoke , mowtown-esque or what ever her style may be called or considered to be ... she's just dazzling to watch ! ....

she really has a great voice, but, everytime I see a live performance of hers, I think that she doesn't like music... there's no Joy... it's all about who is in prison, or how insecurity she is, so she turn anorexic...
I don't know...depression is so last decade...

I think she feels....doesn't matter how she thinks, if she likes, I am captivated, she has a voice that stirs, that's the gift...and when she is really good...she gives you what you had never imagined-that's why she is special-regardless to what some moralistic people think of her, I think she is wonderful!

I think she is self secure to have to guts to dress the way she dresses, she wants to be noticed. As far as being too thin, could be the drugs, they deflat ones appetite.

I rather listen to Amy Winehouse sings than Britney Spears, Hillary Duff. Amy's looks is completely her own invention? she is not an industry molded doll, she seems so rebellioius she could not be molded by any companies. Amy has staying power, she is a songbird, people brought up her negative image but that kind of image is nothing new in the music industry. She is only 22, give her a break. Her materials don't hurt her talents, she could sing in a club in Harlem, and in a hall, in a smoky club, bar, and completely transfixes an audience. She is very refreshing to the industry because of her voice, not because of her personal problems.

I understand your point, you really like her..
Its like me about Bjork... if someone talk bad things about her, I can be very rude...
I got it. ;)

p.s.: Britney Spears? She is still alive?
