Short of actually being there, the live footage was really interesting to watch - I get what you mean about Fellini but it also brought to mind other things, like the wedding feast scenes in 'Company of Wolves' and the Oliver Reed/Alan Bates(?) naked wrestling bit in 'Women in Love'? And hints of other film refs I couldn't place. Overall, slightly menacing and covertly decadent, bar the karaoke. I'd have liked to see the ballroom more but, as with the Peter Saville Cinderella rework, I may have been unlucky and missed bits - wasn't exactly glued to the screen the entire time!
Can something be entirely voyeuristic if you've been explicitly invited to watch? It doesn't feel that way to me, but then I may be a shameless hussy.
Thinking back, it would have been much better to actually be there though - to chose where to be, what to look at, how and when. Oh, and taste Heston Blumenthal's icecream.
