its looking for a 1.mp3 file... go figure... after some technical persual of an IT nature i found this out, otherwise it just sits at the start and wont load.
I agree, this was the most unique out of the ones I've seen so far. Had the feel of those Flash ads that load in web pages - a little loop of a teaser to get your attention.
Maybe the total SHOWstudio geeks (there are some!) will remember Maria Eisl from about a year ago? Maria was a much-loved intern. Who knew she had such dark, sexual energy in her? She seemed so sweet, too!
Lovely contribution, Maria: your time at Goldsmiths is being well spent, looks like!
the silence is KILLING ME!! I'm still wasting in the office and since Penny left a message at lunchtime there has been NO light entertainment for me to chuckle at. What happened? Did everyone get a life or something?!
thanks penny, i do miss showstudio ! , hope all is well...
the movie is a [myopic] study of an effect i explored in 2D, this slow disolve into pixellation, particularly applicable to fashion and beauty as a methaphor for vanitas..
the editing fashion project gave me a chance try it out on moving image.
and what better footage to use than gemma ward dancing filmed by nick ?
i guess lots of people thought so as this footage was used in many submissions.
big thanks to paul b. who made this movie into a working quicktime .
