Typhoon Creative Partnership require one film maker in both Edinburgh and Manchester to shoot a 5-10min sequence for a corporate video installation.

The project is for a commercial property company who are based in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. They wish to create a video installation, projected onto three walls of a room, one for each city. The concept is very simply “space”.

The successful applicants will be expected to provide a treatment of their ideas. We are interested in seeing the city from an insider’s perspective. The material can either be narrative based or simply a series of images that define their city and space.

The film maker may choose from two of three different media; Super 8, digi-video (PD150/ XL1/ Z1 etc.) or digital stills. They may use their own equipment. Alternatively TCP will provide cameras. The latter will severely reduce the film maker’s delivery schedule. TCP will only provide the equipment for 1 week.

The film maker will deliver the rushes, with notes to cover all the material. TCP will then edit the material themselves. A copy of the rushes and finished cut will be provided to the film maker.

The film maker will be paid a single all-in fee, (£3K). This will cover both their fees and production expenses. The film maker will then simply provide the material to an agreed deadline. 10% will be paid to the successful applicants up front, with the final 90% on delivery of the rushes. This is clearly the only insurance policy TCP have, given the nature of this project. Though the client wishes to move away from the typical corporate visuals, entertaining a degree of risk, this is a commercial venture, and the material must meet a certain quality threshold.

For those interested, based in either of those cities, please send CVs/ BIOs and showreels (DVD only) to:

“Space” Typhoon Creative Partnership, 8th Floor, The Dutch House, 307 High Holborn, London WC1V 7LL

Please include your treatment ideas, (1-2 pages A4), what media format you intend to shoot and whether you will use your own equipment. This must reach TCP by Monday 16th April. The successful applicants will be notified on Friday 20th April. Rushes delivery deadline is Monday 14th May 2007.
