P.S. There are lots of cases of authors being sued for publishing works of fiction in which the characters are based on recognisably real people, even if they're not named. But I'm sure you already know that detlev, even if you're not a writer.

one of the writers i love is a guy called issac babel most famous for his red cavalry stories his semi-fictional account of the soviet war against poland in 1920.
one of babels strategies for creating a sharper feeling of reality in his stories was to mix real people with fictional characters.
this was to have serious repercussions the people he wrote about becoming;head of state,marshals,the government in fact-dangerous men to cross.
in 1940 he was put against a wall and shot.his works withdrawn,his name errased;and he was thrown into a communal grave.
he knew all of this was going to happen,and had gotten his wife,and sister out to belgium and paris respectivley.
he was prepared to die for what he wrote and he wasnt the only one,and still isnt...so being sued...ha ha ha!

Do you think detlev should be shot for our amusement then?
