Meanwhile at the hottest new Christabel Stewart-themed bar downtown, Samantha, a gay choreographer friend and I were sipping cosmopolitans when I noticed my blackberry vibrating in my recently purchased Marjan Pejoski feather-trim and phallic-bone-toggle handbag. It was Penny Martin, New York’s new editrix to ubercool fashion collective SHOWstudio. She was throwing a party downtown in her cute maisonette on Commerical Street west of Bleecker and wanted everyone to come see her hottest new discovery: some guy calling himself ‘Sebastion’ who she claimed was going to be HUGE.
“You simply have to see this guy’s work” Penny enthused down the phone in her trademark cultivated Fife accent.”
“Honey,” intervened Samantha, “I thought we were going to go to Monica Lewinsky’s leather goods fair.” I didn’t want to say anything at the time but Samantha’s pitiful invite reminded me just how much we had grown apart since we went off air. It’s like we still had a lot in common but last week I found myself being dragged along to a Liz Clairbourne retrospective at the Javitz Centre. How was I going to break it to her that her tastes were just out-of-date and that I needed to make other friends? This time I knew I had to put my foot down. Penny’s specially organised ‘Plymouth- (whatever that is!) inspired’ evening of seagull noises and bad taste non-ironika homo-erotika had me chomping at the bit. Apparently Hamish Bowles was already there and Diane Pernet had brought beers. I had no option. I had to take Samantha with me. The only problem was, she was wearing bright fuscia pants. What would Penny think? She might never speak to me again.
While hailing a cab to get back to Pen’s (that’s what her friends call her apparently) I made certain Samantha stood by a huge dirty puddle on the corner of Avenue of the Americas while a heavy duty vehicle drove by. SPLASH! Thank God. Still not perfect but I figured that when the dirtiness dried off it would look a lot more Galliano’s Gothic-Americana A/W. I yanked an overcoat off a sleeping tramp and hey presto.
At last. Penny’s was just one funky ten minute cab ride away and Samantha looked all nostalgia and soulfully shit. Perfect. I was psyched. Penny SMSed me en route to tell me that Big had arrived and had offered $3M for one of Sebastion’s “dreary shot of cyberpunk in village marquee” portraits. I started fantasising about how it would look hanging in my closet when Miranda called to say that Steve and Brady had made it back safely from Florida. Big deal. What is it with these old girlfriends? Can’t they understand if I’m going to hang on to my image I have to start fucking with the big guns? Hell, Penny Martin is on the way to owning half of New York . I’ve got work to do if I’m going to get syndicated in next year’s SHOWstudio ‘Sex and St. Andrews’ feature. Remember Nick Knight? Yeah, well now he’s working for Penny.
We pulled up on Commercial. Thankfully after we disembarked Samantha decided to try her luck with the bellhop. It was time to make my escape.

Wow. I post this subject and in less than an hour detlev has walked all round it. Then, suddenly, he lifts its tail and out pop a few plausible ping pong balls. And now this. How can you not love?

(unless you're Sebastion or other. BTW, notice that Sebastion has not been here much lately. It's because he's so tired of being used by this forum as a punch bag. And I miss him! So can we tone it right down please?)
