Send you CV outlining your experience, highlighting anything that is relevant to display or retail. Before doing this, call up and ask for a name of someone from VM/Display to forward this to.
Send a really enthusiastic email to them saying how much you admire their diplays, would love to be involved, can you come and do work placement etc.
These kind of jobs are not usualy advertised. What is more common is that someone from the shop floor who shows interest and creativity is moved of the sales floor to a position in diplay. Might be worth considering working your way in like this.
