And who actually gives a shit if someone has something negative to say. I thought this forum was a platform for discussion, not everyone needs to share the same opinion.

I'm aware that I tend to voice my opinions in an agressive way, but it pisses me off that you can't say anything negative on here without people flying off the handle. I remember similar sitations during the 'Moving Fashion' project. Ben Morris left some mildly critical messages about film submissions, and in return everyone became crazed at him. There is no harm in criticism and this industry is riddled with bitches, so get over it Rebeccah.

My original point in the whole Supersuper discussion, was that it's quite a funny publication, but that's about it. There seems to be no substance, and im my opinion, no longevity. Wowow was fun, and mildly exciting when it started. But it gets a boring watching the same group of people running around, publishing photos of themselves reenacting scenes from Michael Alig's life. It's also clear that Gareth Pugh is a talented designer, but I think Susannah Frankel was right to describe his creations are costume, not fashion. In my opinion he should give it a rest with the heavy Leigh Bowery referencing. At the end of the day Rebeccah, these are just my opinions, so there no real need to get in a shit.

the thing is valentine, if you had actually bothered to give as full an explanation as you just offered, there might not have been any objections in the first place. By saying it was all just 'shit' I can kind of understand why people were getting annoyed at you. Arguably, it's also boring and unimaginative to hear people use that term gratuitously to describe anything not to their liking whereas it can be interesting as you just showed us, to put some effort into elucidating what exactly it is that you aren't happy with. So you see, valentine, try to dig a bit deeper in that ol' noggin of yours and fish around for some ideas before you feel tempted to drop a string of your favourite expletives into this forum.

From your little tantrum, I can already identify a few interesting themes worthy of further discussion - (a) what exactly is it that you don't like about 'the heavy Leigh Bowery referencing' - do you think it is simply excessive and that GP needs to consider other sources or do you just find it culturally irrelevant? (b) can we draw a line between 'costume' and 'fashion' and if so, where does that line lie? Look at Anna Piaggi for instance - a woman who has always made a spectacle of herself. Is this not fashion? Surely her credentials at Italian Vogue suggest that this is a person who is deeply connected with 'fashion' if not just from her curation, styling and writing. Or is she simply a body artist? (c) How can we define longevity before any sufficient period of time has elapsed to validate it?

(sorry everyone - flu:x hasn't made any appearances this weekend and I felt obliged to step into her shoes for this one. I know she would approve)

I posted this comment on the Superstar forum, If you forget about the magazine references in this duel post, I think that I can actually make sense sometimes! It has it's benefits things like this !so don't get to caught up in the binary wars? be positive no matter what anyone else thinks or
says?

RE:SuperSuper
I guess the same attitude should be applied to Designers,Photographer's,Models, and designerlabels,,,etc then? may I also add? (Opal Fruits=Starburst) are also refreshing and as above there is something for eveyone? Hence- Don't always be Fooled by the Flavour, of what you read or eat, don't alway's make things complete! and alway's BEWARE of the TAILOR! As for the magazine I have not read it before,Although I will keep you posted as to my personal opinion once that I have read without prejudice, as everyone should be entitled to their own personal choice or opinion, However it is put across? I also beleive sometimes contraversial or "volatile "comment's? Can enance or be a force in fashion(Westwood etc...?) It's only different ways of looking at and saying things? "VALENTINE 'Certainly can provoke emotional response, which isn't that bad really is it? It's how you react? Otherwise sometimes things could get little bit like who can we "PRAISE" next or something to that effect?
Hope that I haven't offended anyone?

Thank you for your time! If you beleive that it exist's that is?
