maybe art has BECOME USeLESS, maybe because we've become useless, but there was a time not too long ago when art was the voice of the poeple, challenging everything from politics to the human experianced.

Everyone man/woman to his/her own, try and see things 360 before you make silly comments, like ''art is useless''

im not saying i dont value art,indeed im highly passionate about it....when i say art is useless i am defining it -thats what i value about it.
it cant heat your boiler,you cant eat it,and you cant wear it.

If something gives pashion, inspiration,and therapy to others,how can it be useless, as a material object it may he, but not as an emotional feeling. Unless its a cow in perspex, or tent in the garden.
is that a science project or art, but there again it looks interesting so I guess that its art, or baby not.
Shaw, what where you thinking when you took those great black and white pictures for your book, is that art to you. Any way it is obviouse that this discussion could never end as art is so many things to so many people, I have not checked the diffinition in the dictionary, but that again is someones interpritation of art and in deed the very book that the words are published in could be classed as art to someone else.

Funkthing I think that you have got a lot going on in your work and you are going in the right direction keep at it, I do not give these sort of praises lightly either.
Shaw I am still wondering where the book is available, is it through Apeture or is there somewhere more local, can I get the library to get a copy in all the best

From what I understand you to be saying Shaw, I think even "useless" art has a purpose, thus making it not really that useless at all.
