Sorry, just curious - I've travelled a fair amount but still haven't made it off the European and African continents. Also, it's bloody cold where I am - there's what's called here 'a lazy wind', meaning it can't be bothered to go round you so it bites... And I have a really bad cold!

12c? shit, we sunbathe in those temperatures! Here it's about 2c. Hey Geraldine, you're very English - weather talk!

But now it's way past my bedtime. Catch you later!

If the temperature hits 20 C ... we freeze ... there ARE perks living so close to the Equator (i.e., At this moment, its summer!)

Hi there. I am kind of an intruder into your forum, but stumbling over this discussion I simply couldn't resist, I have a feeling you guys might have some advice for me. I am a journalist, or rather TV presenter, working at the Norwegian Broadcasting Company. My crew makes a weekly tv magasine on contemporary art, and we are, for the moment, planning a special on the relationship between art and fashion. So this very same discussion is running in our crew room just now. My question to you is: which artist/designer, preferrably based in Europe, and explicitly working in and thinking about the crossroad art/fashion, should we make a story on? Someone who is a good example that art and fashion are siblings in spirit? Any suggestions or tips out there? If so, please email me asap at . Thank you for lending me your time. Myrt

this is amazing just to see the different temperature of responsis, personally i believe art is NOT useless, yes you can make shitting an art form, but what kind of artist would you be???
look at the countless examples we've seen over the last century of beautiful minds creating beautiful art.

unfortunatly people who are just negative, thats their choice, but they will never understand where art comes from, unless they decide to explore their negativity through art, because art is being honest; about even your most deepest inklings, and that will resonate in another person, because we are connected through art, if not anywhere else.

I'm curious as to what is it you all want from the term art? There seems to be an enduring notion that some sort of validation can come from an association with it. This seems to reinforce an anxiety that needn’t be present in any of the disciplines you discuss. Why so keen to homogenate all this under one already thorny term?
