To me it shows how very dysfunctional people can earn a lot of money as Celebrity"s. maby its part of there creative process.
Its good to see Barrymore back ,and its now time to give him another break without all the media frenzy that is wrecking this Country at the moment.
I keep thinking that Brtain is going totaly mad at the moment on almost every issue.
I must admit I preferd the series Egypt and Rome that went out on the BBC last year, television at its best.
Not sure about MPs pretending to be cats in reality programs. It was embarassing to watch but maby it just about summs up politics in this Country at the moment.
I prefer quality art programs and would like to see a full set of the South Bank program produced on sellable video ( FORMATS THAT ARE AVAILABLE AT ANY TIME). The series over the yearS has produced an outstanding look at art history like no other program,as far as i know, a lot of the artists are not around now, but there work is fetching very high prices.
Its a great and valuable in site in to there lifestyles a lot of which where very dysfunctional, and chalenging. So maby thats the way I need to be.
A lot of these artists made them selves an extention of there own art by mastering publicity to there advantages, creating controversy in order to get free publicity.
look Wharehole, Hockney, Gilbert and George, Bacon.
In Plymouth a few years ago I got to know an artist called Robert Lenkiewicz, in Plymouth and the area he was quite a ledgiend, he had fatherd at least 16 chlidren. He studied human behaviour at every level and used this in his painting,.
Over many years he became friendly with people of the streets, over a period of time he befriended a man called Diagiones? not sure of the spelling. When the old man died he wanted to be preseved and left with the artits, so for many years the body of the old man was hidden away by Robert un till after Roberts death in 2000, when the body of the old down and out was found in a draw in the main studio of Robetts, later the body of an 18 century which was also found in another part of the Stidio.
Over a period of years I shot Robert in photographs and on videio, some of this I made in to a small dvd on Four Plymouth Artyits a couple of years ago.
Going back to the begining of the story, sometimes you dont nesseseraly agree with what people are doing, I am interested in people that are difrent and slightly non conformist creativly., and under those sircumstances turn a blind eye to what I dont relate to or carnt understand, or even try to understand.
The late Robert Lenkiewicz website is at www.robertlenkiewicz.co.uk
When he died % million pounds was left in his estate at least, but over the complicated dismanteling of his estate most of it went in to settelments.
In his life he aquired things quite ofetn for nothing so it was quite amazing that so much seemed to be left. Like the story of Leyroy this would be great for a debauched, film maby a bawdy comedy
