I think it's noteworthy to check his work out, I was completely blown away.

I'm fairly speechless, it's the first time I've seen anyone use this technique to this extent. I do have a fairly narrow knowledge of new techniques though. But yeah, I can only imagine what it would be like to see this in person.

No idea who Glen Brown is and can't find anything on him via Google [too many Glen Brown's who paint]. As for Giobbi, he just responded to an e-mail and forwarded me to this article:

It might give you a better idea of what he does. I personally don't think it's too over the top. And as for Bacon, there are definite similarities, but the major difference would for me be Giobbi's almost Schizophrenic perspectives, everything is in focus, everything is clearly there. Whereas Bacon was more traditional with standard, and almost classical focal point use. He even utilizes geometric lines to better center the subject.

If you have any links to Glen Brown's work please post though, I'm eager to see.

Oh shit, you never compared Giobbi to Bacon, albeit my research into his work has brought that up a bunch of times. Got brain farts today.

It's like a retrospective of modern art; Saville, Bacon, Hamilton, Blake, Rosenquist, Schiele… ha ha
