Well I am the biggest Whites Stripes fan, and they are playing on Dec first for Jon Stewart The Daily Show.... I am gonna TIVO it for sure. I was Meg for Halloween last year....I just had some thoughts listening to Howard this morining and goofing around on the Internet. The FCC has been coming down so hard on Howard Stern for so long. Are you guys worried about what the radio will turn into? Are you worried about your rights and the freedom of speech? I think we all start to think about censorship and what we plan on doing about it. I wonder how Napster gets away with a racy video like this... check it out. http://www.getthewholething.com/ It's got this really hot girl on it and she's pretty much stripping.... ah so interesting what we chose to label as "innapropriate".We don't get ads like THAT in the US. It’s a Napster test commercial that got leaked from the UK. Think it’ll make it to TV in the U.S.?

That commercial doesn't have a hope of getting aired, which in this case I think is good. It's irritating when companies use sex appeal to promote things that have nothing to do with sex appeal, like cheeseburgers and chewing gum or in this case downloadable music. You can't help but pay attention to it so it's really manipulative. It also makes them look desperate and dubious, but I guess it's the most guaranteed technique in the advertising book. It's fine when the ad is selling something that is ABOUT sex appeal, like fashion.

As for Howard Stern, don't get him up here. THough he did a show in Montreal and was chased out under the charge of "hate speech" because he made some jokes about french-canadians. Same with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, who made front page headlines for just doing his schtick. I mean, he's called Triumph the *INSULT* Comic Dog! What did they expect? They're so touchy!
