I think its great; especially if you are an 80s child and want to hear what has happened to darlene out of roseanne, the princess from never ending story (two leading alternative girl style icons).x

Isn't it edited by some of the guys from Nylon? Personally very tired of this nostalgic look back at the 80's - it has been done to death (and to be honest the 80's were almost as much a cultural style wasteland as the 90's). The photography in Lula is ok - very derivative of Nylon. Is it just me or does there seem to a HUGE glut of publications at the moment all peddling the same content? It is time for something a little more avant-guarde. Just to re-emphasise my point of 80's nostalgia gone crazy - David Hasselhoff is soon to tour Australia with a musical retrospective of his life (his own music of course). Now if this isn't nostalgia gone crazy, I don't know what is.

no its not i dont think. I also dont think it has distribution in australia. The focus isnt 80s per se, it looks at unlikely cultural icons for people my age from when we were younger as all the editorial staff are early to late 20s. No more no less. I just wanted to share it with the forum, as its the first magazine ive seen for a while that i have really enjoyed.

Yeah, we get it here in Australia - we get all the int'l mags sent by air freight. Don't take my comments as a personal dig - just my opinion on the state of "style" mags at the moment. Do you guys get Oyster over there? Now that is a good mag.

hi, its good to get an guys opinion on it, as its very girly. ANd if people on here agreed...how boring would it be. Where is Oyster published? Is it online anywhere?

I try to keep my eye on all the fashion publications - just to see what everybody else is doing. Oyster is an Australian publication but I do know that they publish it internationally - you should be able to pick it up in Borders. Their site is www.oystermag.com - it only shows highlights though.

haven't seen it, do you have a website? you should check out the new dutch magazine called CODE. the style of the mag kicks ass, it's not avantgarda and it's not 80;s it's more street style, look it up
